About our Founder and Baker
Born and raised in Rogers Park, Chicago, William Heichman’s baking journey began with a cherished family recipe and a win at a local church baking contest in August 2023. His family-inspired peach cobbler, with its "buttery", cookie-like crust, earned first place and sparked a vision that soon became Sweet Comfort Creations. The roots of his famous cobbler run deep; after the passing of his mother, grandmother, and Sister Dede, he sought to recreate the flavors they once shared. His sister provided an old recipe from Sister Dede, which, with a few personal tweaks, became his signature creation. By October 2023, William’s dream took shape, bringing his nostalgic flavors to the community and beyond.
Our Story
I experienced at a very young age how food brought people together and the love and memories that good food evoked. I reminisce of days of old sitting around the table sharing stories and being with the ones I loved. The dessert table at our family's Holiday and Sunday dinners was always a source of anticipation. In the moments of me missing those that are not here anymore it takes only a bite, a smell of a dessert or meal and I’m back to those tender moments as they come rushing back.
My goal is to capture the essence of happier moments in every bite of my Peach Cobbler, offering not just a dessert but a journey through joyful memories. My desire is to provide comfort and joy into every bite of our Peach Cobblers, creating an experience that transcends the simple act of eating. I hope that with each mouthful, you find yourself transported to a wonderful moment in your own life, leaving an impression that contributes to the tapestry of your cherished memories. Over the past 15 years, I've honed this recipe, receiving numerous accolades and comments on its deliciousness. The crowning achievement was winning my church baking contest this year. Motivated by the positive reception, I've decided to share my Peach Cobbler with the wider public. Inspired by the love and tradition of our Peach Cobbler, I created our Apple Cobbler to capture that same warmth and nostalgia. Just as the Peach Cobbler was born from cherished family recipes, our Apple Cobbler brings a new yet familiar comfort to the table. I hope that it, too, brings joy and a sense of togetherness, becoming part of the special memories that you share with loved ones.
